Good Fortune Cookies has been doing a brisk business dropping off freshly baked, oven-warm cookies by the boxful to doorsteps all over Cork ever since it was launched by former Ballymaloe Cookery School Graduate, Sarah Cremin, in February 2021.

Founder & Baker, Sarah, came up with the idea of launching her own artisan cookie company in December 2020 as she approached the end of her 12-week course in Shanagarry, Co. Cork, just as the country was bracing itself for another Covid-19 lockdown.

Having baked edible gifts for friends and family throughout the pandemic, leaving them on doorsteps and at gates accompanied by little notes saying “hang in there”, or “can’t wait to see you soon”, Sarah loved the feeling of cheering people with her bespoke bakes. And so Good Fortune Cookies was born out of the idea of spreading joy with delicious freshly baked cookies alongside thoughtful little cards designed to put a smile on her customers’ faces.

Staying true to the ethos she was educated on at Ballymaloe, Sarah only uses premium quality, local, and ethically sourced ingredients to create her comforting cookies. Every flavour is handmade in small batches using local free-range eggs, organic vanilla bean paste, Callebaut Fairtrade chocolate and Irish butter, and she vehemently refuses to use palm oil in any of her recipes.

The quality of Good Fortune’s offering was acknowledged by Blas na hEireann in 2021, as Sarah’s hugely popular Double Chocolate & West of Dingle Sea Salt Cookies picked up a richly-deserved Bronze Award.

With demand for her tantalising treats from people living outside of the rebel county growing by the day, Sarah has decided that the time is right for Good Fortune Cookies to take the leap and spread her joy nationwide, starting with the upcoming festive season.
